TREATMENT NOTE CAT/2025/12

Items: PHO/1989/S/114 (photograph, Shore House kitchen);

COR/1989/207 (letter, Shore House to North House).

Request: COR/2025/188.

1. No general rule being in force, the items are treated singly and

provisionally. Nothing in this note establishes a practice.

2. Catalogue entries: retained, and stated to be retained. A reader

searching the catalogue will find that the items exist, what they

are, and that access is presently closed.

3. Scans: closed. The originals remain in the collection and are not

destroyed, altered, or withdrawn from the accession.

4. Descriptive metadata: revised. The former description named four

people. It now names two, both deceased. The former wording is

retained in the reconciliation history and is not deleted.

5. The request is linked to both entries and may be read by anyone

who reaches them, in the redacted form agreed with the writer.

6. Review: February 2027, or earlier on the application of any of the

persons named, or of a reader with a stated purpose.

7. The archivist records that this treatment is not his view of what

ought to be done, and that he considers it the correct thing to do

while the question is open.

G. Sørhaug, Archivist.

Provisional. Entered as unreconciled.
