FORM FRM/2012/03
RELEASE FROM THE ROTA
Duties put down: ......................................
From (date): .........................................
Signed: ..............................................
That is the form.
NOTES FOR THE ROTA CLERK
1. There is no box for a reason. Do not add one, do not ask for one,
and do not write one down if you are given one.
2. Reassign the duties within the week. Tell the house who now holds
them. Do not tell the house who held them before or why they stopped.
3. Enter the place as kept. Nothing changes in the person's standing.
A rota is not a standing and this form is not a resignation.
4. Do not set a date for the person's return and do not write to them
about one. They will come back or they will not, and both are the
same to this office.
5. Do not enquire of the person's household, and do not ask another
member how they are getting on.
6. Where the person is caring for somebody, they may need the house more
than usual and not less. Do not stop inviting them to things on the
assumption that they are busy. Ask them the same as everybody else and
accept the answer.
This form is used for care, illness, work, study, travel, and for no
reason at all. It does not distinguish between them because the office
does not need to know which it is.
Clause 6 was added at the request of three people who had used the form and who reported, separately and in the same year, that the invitations had stopped.
