The review of all forty-one recognised circles. Three arrangements were dissolved; no member's standing was altered.
Present: eleven stewards. In the chair: A. Yusuf.
1. The review covered forty-one recognised circles and the returns for
the three years to September 2018. Thirty-eight were found to be in
ordinary condition and were continued without comment, which is the
correct outcome of a review and not a compliment.
2. RANGELEY. The evening had been prepared, read, and cleared by the
same member for eleven years. When she was unable to attend for a
season, the circle did not meet. The review found the fault to lie in
the arrangement and not in any person, and noted that the
convenership had been laid down and taken up again in a manner that
met PRO/1994/05 in form and defeated it in substance. Recognition
withdrawn.
3. KLAMATH FALLS. The circle met regularly for eighteen months after
its partner organisation closed and took up no other commitment. It
was asked whether it wished to and answered that it did not.
Recognition withdrawn on that answer.
4. VILLACH. No ordinary meeting in the preceding year. The book held
four dates and nothing else. Recognition withdrawn. The members had
individually continued to attend at Ljubljana and were written to
accordingly.
5. It was agreed that the notice at MEM/1996/form be sent in each case,
and that each notice state in terms that membership is unaffected.
The circles were dissolved. The members were not.
6. The stewardship declined to publish a table of the three grounds
beside the names, on the ground that a table invites a reader to
rank them. The grounds are recorded here and in the returns.
7. It was further agreed that the count of recognised circles stands at
thirty-eight, and that the figure be printed without explanation in
the report, since the report is not the place to explain a count.
Reconciled with the Common Record
Reconciled with the annual report of 2019. The three closing notices are held at the affiliated houses.
