WHAT THIS INSTITUTE DOES NOT PROVIDE

We are not a medical service. No one here is your doctor, nurse, or therapist, and nobody here is qualified to advise you about your health, your medication, or your mind. If you are unwell we will help you telephone somebody who is qualified, and we will sit with you while you wait.

We are not a crisis service and there is nobody awake at night. If you are in danger, telephone the emergency number for the country you are in. The number is on the card beside this notice.

We are not a legal or financial adviser. We will not witness your will, hold your money, or accept a power of attorney.

We are not a hostel or a shelter. Residence is a rota place decided months in advance and there is no bed available tonight.

We are not a retreat, a course, a treatment, or a programme. Nothing here is expected to make you better and we make no claim of any benefit to anybody.

We do not accept children into membership and never have.

What we have is a kitchen, a table, some tools, a great deal of paper, and Thursday. You are welcome to all of it and it costs nothing.

Written after two people arrived in 2017 believing the Institute offered residential care. Both were helped to the correct service and both later wrote; one of the letters is at COR/2017/88 and is not printed.
