REPORT TO THE STEWARDSHIP REP/2011/05
ON THE LEGIBILITY OF THE READER
1. We visited ten tables and asked the person reading whether they
could see the page. Five could not, and three of those had been
learning the readings by heart rather than say so.
2. The fault is ours and not theirs. The third edition is set in a
face chosen for the number of pages it saved.
3. We recommend resetting at a larger size, and a companion volume
at larger size still, paginated to the same openings so that two
readers may follow one another.
4. We do not recommend calling in the third edition. A person who
knows a reading by heart is not to be corrected for it.
