ANNUAL RETURN REP/2016/07

RESTRICTIONS AND WITHDRAWALS OF ACCESS IN FORCE

Restrictions on attendance in force at 1 July: 3.

Of these, made within the year: 1. Reviewed within the year: 3. Ended within the year: 1.

Longest in force: 6 years, reviewed annually, continued each time with written reasons sent to the person.

Restrictions made since 1990, cumulative: 12. Ended: 9.

Withdrawals of access to particular files: 2. Both concern officers who consulted closed material they were not entitled to. Both are for a stated period with a date on them.

Requests for a restriction refused by the stewardship in the year: 2. In one, the conduct complained of was a disagreement about a procedure; the stewardship recorded that a person may not be restricted for disagreeing, and the procedure was afterwards amended in the direction the person had argued for.

Returns after a restriction ended, cumulative: 4. Two of the four hold offices.

Matters referred to the police by a house or the stewardship in the year: 1. Where this occurs the fact is stated to the person concerned in the words we have told the police, and not otherwise.

Lists of former members kept by any house: none. This line is included in the return every year because the answer must be checked and not assumed.
