Winter
Repair and correspondence
Indoors, with the tools out.
House Calendar
The calendar exists for logistics rather than persuasion. Most of it is cooking, travel, and the rota. Closed observances are periods during which a house receives neither visitors nor correspondence; they are ordinary and no explanation is offered for them.
Maintained at the North House and correct at the date of printing. Corrections are entered by hand at each house and reconciled in October.
Printed 2 January 2026 · thirty-first printing
The printed calendar is operational and differs by house. The seasons below describe when work is possible rather than when it is owed, and they are kept locally: Cedar House and South House do not keep the northern year.
Winter
Indoors, with the tools out.
Spring
Out to the line, and what the winter did to it.
Summer
Longer days, more people in the house.
Autumn
What is kept, and what is written down.
Entries below are marked open to visitors, members, or closed. The house year sets out the recurring forms behind them.

Visitors should write before travelling. A house that is keeping a closed observance will not reply until it has ended, and the letter will be answered as though it had arrived afterwards.
This calendar is the houses’ own. The circles keep their own dates and are not bound to it, except for the annual return and the two reconciliations they share with their house.
