Common Record

What this device is holding for you

The orientation keeps a small record. It is written here, on this device, and nowhere else unless you ask otherwise: no steward has read it. You may amend it, take a copy away, lodge one privately against your membership, or withdraw it entirely.

Consulting the device…

The house convention is that a record belongs to the person who made it. Withdrawing one here removes it from this device at once. A copy lodged with the house is a separate thing and must be withdrawn separately; when both are gone, nothing of the orientation remains anywhere.
