Binding orders

Dossiers

A dossier is not a new document. It is an instruction to bind existing ones. Three standing bindings are kept, each gathering the circulars, the objections and the cited papers belonging to a single matter, so that a member who asks about it is given the whole of it and not the part that answers them.

Each dossier prints on your own device as one continuous report, paginated throughout, with a contents leaf, a running foot and a citation at the end. Where a paper is cited in the bound papers but not held in the public edition, its reference is listed and the fact of the absence is printed.

The standing bindings

Where a matter is spread across several papers, the stewardship binds them. Each dossier prints as one continuous, paginated report: circulars first, then the objections in full, then every paper cited.

Continuity, separation and review

The papers governing what happens when a member's participation stops being continuous: the review procedure, the separation circular, the designation dispute, and the correspondence cited in each.

Everything the public edition holds on the four years in which the Journal did not appear. The two surviving accounts of the decision are bound together and are not reconciled.
