CATALOGUE ENTRY MEM/1998/06
Author: Eleanor Vale. Two sheets, typed, signed.
Addressed to: the stewardship.
Description. Instructions for the handling of the author's papers, the disposal of her personal library, the treatment of correspondence held on behalf of others, and the wish that no likeness be displayed at any house. Names three members to act. Sets out which classes of material are to be entered in the Common Record and which are to be returned to their writers unread.
Restriction. The body is restricted at the author's instruction. The instruction names no term. The stewardship reviewed the restriction in 2009 and again in 2021 and retained it on both occasions.
What may be said of the contents: the memorandum is administrative throughout, concerns the archive rather than the Institute's governance, and contains no direction to the stewardship on any other matter.
Filed with the 1999 accession note (ACC/1999/03).
Members may consult the description, the date, and the list of classes. Applications to read the body are answered in writing.
