Local history

Provisional 2012, recognised 2013. The clothing work began that winter and has been the circle's obligation without interruption since.

The outward obligation

Repair and restoration

Warm room and clothing repair, held with a neighbourhood drop-in service.

Mending coats and boots through the winter, and staffing a warm room two afternoons a month.

The forms it carries

  • The Quiet Twelve

Twelve minutes are kept before the reading. Nothing is assigned to the silence.

  • The Repair Table

A table, a bench, or a marked shelf where ordinary objects wait to be mended.

  • The Weather Entry

Before the first shared meal of the month, one person writes the weather in the house book.
