Local history

Provisional 2016, recognised 2017. It grew quickly, which the reviewing steward treated as a reason for care rather than for congratulation, and the circle's second review was brought forward a year at its own request.

It has since split its evening in two — the meeting and the class — so that neither depends on the other's numbers.

The outward obligation

Adult education

Evening literacy and forms class, held with a district migrant support centre.

Two classes a week in reading, writing, and the filling in of official forms. No register beyond the count.

The forms it carries

  • The Quiet Twelve

    Twelve minutes are kept before the reading. Nothing is assigned to the silence.

  • The Repair Table

    A table, a bench, or a marked shelf where ordinary objects wait to be mended.

Local variation. The reading is given in Korean; a printed English text is on the table for anyone who wants it.
