Local history

Provisional 2007, recognised 2008. Attendance is deliberately modest and the circle has declined, in two returns, the suggestion that it meet weekly.

The outward obligation

Companionship and hospice

Reading and correspondence table, held with an older people's day centre.

Reading aloud, writing letters, and sitting with people who would otherwise spend the afternoon alone.

The forms it carries

  • The Quiet Twelve

Twelve minutes are kept before the reading. Nothing is assigned to the silence.

  • The Weather Entry

Before the first shared meal of the month, one person writes the weather in the house book.

The shared forms, as they are kept in the houses
