Local history

The newest of the Karst circles, recognised in 2016 after a provisional year in which its shelter shifts were already running.

The outward obligation

Food

Night shelter kitchen, held with a winter night shelter run by a district charity.

Two kitchen shifts a week from November to March, and a standing arrangement to take a third at short notice.

The forms it carries

  • The Quiet Twelve

Twelve minutes are kept before the reading. Nothing is assigned to the silence.

  • The Repair Table

A table, a bench, or a marked shelf where ordinary objects wait to be mended.

Local variation. Between November and March the ordinary meeting is shortened, because half the room is going on to a shift.
