Local history

Provisional 2008, recognised 2009. The circle has kept its number under twenty by choice, holding that the reading room's size is a useful discipline.

The outward obligation

Records and conservation

Records afternoons, held with a municipal archive's public reading service.

Boxing, listing, and plain repair of twentieth-century civic paper, one afternoon a fortnight.

The forms it carries

  • The Quiet Twelve

Twelve minutes are kept before the reading. Nothing is assigned to the silence.

  • The Weather Entry

Before the first shared meal of the month, one person writes the weather in the house book.
